After an assassin makes a failed attempt on their boss’s life, five bodyguards head off on a quest to capture or kill the man. When the hit man is revealed to be the legendary Tanner, the men grow more determined. Killing a man like Tanner would make someone a legend themselves.
With their target injured and ill-prepared for the desolate and wintry landscape he finds himself in, the guards are certain Tanner will fall to one of them.
Their leader, Jake Beaumont, a formidable man in his own right, guides them in a relentless pursuit to catch up to the assassin. Beaumont tracks Tanner over rough terrain while also dealing with discord and division among his men.
Injured, lacking food, short on sleep, and plagued by bad weather and terrible luck, Tanner does his best to not only survive, but to triumph against the odds.
